As Unitarian Universalists...
The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) emphasizes shared values over a creed, centered on a commitment to love. These values, officially adopted in 2024, are: interdependence, pluralism, justice, transformation, generosity, and equity. They reflect the faith’s long-held principles, which focus on the inherent worth and dignity of every person, a free and responsible search for truth, and justice in human relations.
- Interdependence: Honoring the "interdependent web of all existence" and creating sustainable, respectful relationships with one another and the Earth.
- Pluralism: Celebrating diversity in culture, experience, and theology, and covenanting to learn from one another with love, curiosity, and respect.
- Justice: Working to create "multicultural Beloved Communities" by dismantling racism and other forms of oppression.
- Transformation: Adapting to a changing world and collectively growing spiritually and ethically.
- Generosity: Cultivating a spirit of gratitude and hope.
- Equity: Declaring that every person has the right to flourish with dignity, love, and compassion.
As People who Honor Earth-Centered, Nature-Relating & Pagan Philosophies...
CUUPS celebrates many traditions and philosophies with god/dess-based, earth-centered, tribal and Pagan spiritual paths. We are a diverse theo/alogical community open to those in alignment with Unitarian Universalist purposes, values, and principles. CUUPS honors diversity and respect for all.
"Spiritual teachings of Earth-centered traditions which celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature."
Unitarian Universalism honors the beautiful tapestry of religious diversity including Pagan spiritual traditions, EcoSpirituality, and the many expressions of nature or Earth centered spirituality.
"Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part."
The tenants and values of Unitarian Universalism invite us to open our hearts to the sacredness of our planet and our relationship with the world. The inclusion of a Pagan and Earth relating and centered theo/alogy like all others is debated, discussed, and celebrated.
